National Optoelectronic Technology and Industry Development Forum Successfully Held in Ningbo University

The “National Forum on Optoelectronic Technology and Industrial Development” was successfully held on April 23-24, 2018 at the Institute of Advanced Technology, Ningbo University. The conference was organized by the Infrared Branch of the China Optics and Optoelectronics Industry Association, the Quantum Electronics and Optoelectronics Branch of the China Electronics Association and the Military Solid Laser Technology Key Laboratory of the National Defense Science and Technology, and was contracted by the Infrared Materials and Devices Laboratory of Ningbo University.

He said: The overall situation of China's optoelectronic industry in 2017 is stable and progressing. The industry has now reached a trillion-scale scale, especially in the display of wearable devices, etc., with a global share of 34% and a year-on-year increase of 17.7%. Solid-state lasers, especially semiconductor lasers, have made considerable progress. The gross domestic product of laser processing in 2017 was 43 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 30%. China's laser installed capacity accounts for 45% of the global total. It is expected to increase by at least 50% in 2018. The high-power cutting machine has reached 15,000 watts and the welding machine has reached 20,000 watts. It has taken a seat in the international market in deep ultraviolet laser technology, additive manufacturing and some other fields, some of which are in the forefront. The role of infrared technology in the dual use of military and civilian is more and more important, especially in the field of imaging and detection of big data, green health care, etc. It has broad prospects for development and application, and it is of great use in civil-military integration.
